WE STARTED BUSINESS  IN 1948 OUR FIRST OUTLET IN TRANSIT ROAD THE NORTHERN PART OF SINGAPORE (SEMBAWANG AREA),DURING THAT PERIOD OUR SHOP CATERED TO THE NEEDS OF THE NAVAL BASE SHIPS COMING FROM THE UK(HMS) AUSTRALIA AND USA. THE BRITISH AND NEWZELAND (ANZUK) NAVAL FORCE HQ WAS IN THE SAME VICINITY AND THE MAJORITY OF THE HQ STAFF ALSO LIVED IN THE SAME AREA. WE STARTED OUT SELLING TEXTILES, CURIOUS,GARMENTS,GIFT ITEMS,ETC.

OVER THE NEXT 15 YEARS WE CATERED TO A VERY SPECIFIC TARGET GROUP OF CUSTOMERS AND EXCLUSIVELY MET THEIR NEEDS AS IT WAS A VERY LUCRATIVE MARKET. WITH THE GRADUAL WITHDRAWAL OF THE BRITISH AND AZNUK FORCES OUT OF SINGAPORE AND SLOWLY CHANGING BUSINESS SECTOR SCENE WE SAW THE NEED TO MOVE WITH THE TIDE OF THE FAST EMERGING "ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY".

IN 1975 WE VENTURED ON A SMALL SCALE IN ELECTRONIC GOODS AND SAW THE BENEFITS OF THIS GROWING BUSINESS. WE KEPT A CLOSE WATCH IN THIS SECTOR AND BODLY VENTURED INTO THE CITY AREA IN HIGH STREET IN 1976. WE SET UP A RETAIL SHOP AS IT WAS LOCATION WISE VERY ACCESSABLE TO BOTH SINGAPOREANS AND TOURISTS ALIKE AS HIGH STREET HAD BY THEN BECOME THE POPULAR RETAIL BUSINESS AREA.

OVER THE NEXT 5 YEARS, FROM 1976 TO 1981 WE REALISED THAT WE COULD TAKE ON A WIDER MARKET AND EXPAND INTO THE WHOLESALE MARKET.

WE SET UP AN EXPORT/MAIL ORDER/WHOLESALE DIVISION AFTER 1981. MAIL ORDERS WERE TO EXPATRIATES WHO OFTEN VISITED OUR SHOP. OUR PRICES WERE VERY COMPETITIVE TO MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD.

IN THE YEAR 2001 WE OPENED A STORE IN DUNLOP STREET (LITTLE INDIA) AS WE SAW TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY TO MAINLY FOREIGN WORKERS (MAINLY FROM INDIA)AS WELL AS LOCAL CUSTOMERS.

IN THE YEAR 2004 WE OPENED ANOTHER RETAIL STORE IN HOLLAND VILLAGE AS WE  OBSERVED THAT HOLLAND VILLAGE HAD A NICHE MARKET FOR EXPATRIATES,HIGH RANKING DIPLOMATS,LOCALS ETC.

AS OF TODAY WE HAVE SHOPS ISLANDWIDE, IN THE NORTH ,SOUTH,WEST AND CENTRAL AREAS,WE WILL SOON BE SPREADING OUR WINGS TO THE EASTERN SECTOR TOO. OVER THE YEARS OUR COMPANY HAS DEVELOPED AND MAINTAINED VERY GOOD RAPPOT WITH GOVERNMENT BODIES (MINISTRIES, STATUATORY BOARDS,CORPORATE ORGANIZATIONS,EMBASSIES,CONSULATES,MNC'S,EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (LOCAL AND FOREIGN). WE ARE ALSO A PART OF BUSINESS ONLINE (GEBIZ).

THE RETAIL TRADE IN SINGAPORE TODAY HAS MOVED AWAY FROM JUST PROVIDING PRODUCTS TO ENHANCING THIS WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE AND EVEN BRANDING PRODUCTS,BE IT GOODS OR SERVICES,SINGAPOREANS ARE NO LONGER CONTENTED WITH JUST BUYING A PRODUCT AT THE CHEAPEST PRICE. THEY LOOK FOR ACCESSIBLE,AFFORDABLE AND EXCELLENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. WE ALSO NEED TO SERVE A WIDE RANGE OF CLIENTS -FROM THE LOW ECONOMIC SECTOR TO THOSE IN THE UPPER BRACKETS. HENCE OUR MARKETING TOOLS HAVE TO BE DESIGNED TO REACH OUT TO ALL LEVELS OF CUSTOMERS. COPORATE SPONSORSHIPS OF ARTS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES ARE MAJOR TOOLS USED TO BOOST RETAIL TRADE AS HEY REACH OUT TO NICHE MARKETS AS WELL AS THE MASSES. WE HAVE DONE THIS BY USING VARIOUS TOOLS RANGING FROM PRINT MATERIALS EX: POSTERS, FLYERS,SPONSORSHIP OF PRIZES FOR EVENTS AND E-MARKETING.

OUR GOAL HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO GIVE OUR CUSTOMERS THE BEST OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. WE DO NOT WANT TO SELL FOR THE SAKE OF SELLING BUT FOR SERVING OUR PEOPLE. WE ALWAYS WELCOME GENUINE COMPLAINTS AND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS.
